MasterCAM是由美國CNCsoftware公司推出的基於PC機平台的CAD／CAM一體化軟體，由於
其卓越的設計及加工功能，在世界上擁有眾多的忠實用戶，被廣泛應用於機械、電子、
航空等領域。
作為一個CAD／CAM集成軟體，MasterCAM系統包括有設計(CAD)和加工(CAM)兩大部分。
其中設計(CAD)部分主要由Design模組來實現，它具有完整的曲線曲面功能，不僅可以
設計和編輯二維、三維空間曲線，還可以生成方程曲線；採用NURBS、PARAMETERICS等
數學模型，可以以多種方法生成曲面，並具有豐富的曲面編輯功能。加工(CAM)部分主
要由Mill、Lathe和Wire三大模組來實現，並且各個模組本身都包含有完整的設計(CAD)
系統，其中Mill模組可以用來生成銑削加TIJ具路徑，並可進行外形銑削、型腔加工、
鑽孔加工、平面加工、曲面加工以及多軸加工等的模擬；Lathe模組可以用來生成車削
加工刀具路徑，並可進行粗／精車、切槽以及車螺紋的加工模擬；Wire模組用來生成線
切割鐳射加工路徑，從而能高效地編製出任何線切割加工程式，可進行2-4軸上下異形
加工模擬，並支援各種CNC控制器
